Upcoming tour
India 2028
A major Wayfarers tour through southern and central India, led by the team of Torchbearers.
India · January–February 2028
Music, theatre and workshops
The Wayfarers will once again embark on an epic choral and theatrical adventure - this time to India! Joining together with our Wayfarer friends from countries such as Taiwan, China, Singapore, Japan, and of course India, we will tour for five weeks with around 60 singers. Our self-written theatrical piece, Momo, will be our music theatre offering, while our choral concert will be a diverse collection of beautiful pieces build around the concert title: Alight on All Things Precious. It will be the first tour run and organised by Judy’s successors, and represents an exciting new chapter as the choir takes on her legacy as it moves into the future.
Tour dates
2nd January arrival in Bangalore - 6th February depart from Mumbai
Repertoire
Choral and instrumental workshop pieces (primary and high school): These pieces will be learnt by all tourers and taught at the schools we visit. We may also conduct some public workshops.
Choral repertoire: All tourers will learn and rehearse 60-90 minutes worth of choral repertoire that will make up the choral concert portion of our performance repertoire. This may be performed on its own or as part of a longer program alongside the theatrical piece, depending on the performance and location.
Theatrical Piece: Our wonderful team of creatives are currently adapting the novel Momo by Michael Ende for the stage, and are also working on writing music for it. This will be our full length theatrical and musical piece. There are around 13 named roles and various ensemble parts for this piece. The piece also calls for instrumentalists, vocalists, and people who are good at physical movement.
